ESAN began in Ipswich in 1992 and has since established offices in Lowestoft and Bury St Edmunds. Each area has an office either in the hospital or a community setting, and can meet clients at whichever is most convenient. We receive funding from Suffolk Primary Care Trust and Suffolk County Council to provide an independent advocacy service.
We are a user led organisation. People with mental health problems from across the county are represented on our management committee and are among our volunteers who help in offices or as volunteer advocates.
